Having lived in Creswick for more than five years, I discovered that the Lindsays, the famous artistic family were born there. Daryl Lindsay was a member of this family. He married author Joan Lindsay who wrote the novel Picnic at Hanging Rock.
To celebrate 40 years since the international release of the movie Picnic at Hanging Rock, the National Trust – Victoria celebrated this event with a multimedia exhibition at Mulberry Hill, the home of Lady Joan and Sir Daryl Lindsay.
The Return To Hanging Rock exhibition featured original costumes and props from the National Film and Sound Archive, historic images and postcards, installations and artworks.
Whether the novel Picnic at Hanging Rock is fact or fiction when you visit Mulberry Hill you’ll discover the history of this artistic couple.
The exhibition is on display until 27 March, 2016.
