Little Shop of Horrors

After a sell-out season at the Hayes Theatre in Sydney, Little Shop of Horrors will be performed at the Comedy Theatre in Melbourne for a limited season from 4 to 22 May, 2016.

Returning as director is Dean Bryant and making up the cast is Brent Hill, Esther Hannaford, Tyler Coppin, Scott Johnson, Angelique Cassimatis, Josie Lane, Chloe Zuel, Dash Kruck and Kuki Tipoki.

Produced by Luckiest Productions and Tinderbox Productions have teamed up with puppet makers Erth to create a brand new Audrey II. In a world first Brent Hill who stars as Seymour also voices the plant Audrey II.

It’s one of the longest-running off Broadway show written by Alan Menken and writer Howard Ashman. Based on the 1960 low budget film directed by Robert Corman. In 1986 a new film was released starring Rick Moranis, Ellen Greene and Steve Martin.

The story is about a down-and-out florist shop assistant Seymour Krelborn raises a plant that feeds on human blood and flesh. Audrey II grows and grows … and GROWS! Seymour discovers that feeding his ambition starts to require juicier and juicier ingredients. Before he knows it, Seymour and Audrey must battle the perilous and persuasive plant not just for their lives, but for the very future of planet earth!

Featuring of the several of the well-known songs include Skid Row (Downtown), Somewhere That’s Green and Suddenly Seymour.

After the Melbourne season, it will be performed in Canberra at the Canberra Theatre from 25 May.  After visiting the nation’s captial it will be staged at QPAC in Brisbane from 1 to 12 June. It will back in Sydney at Roslyn Packer Theatre from 20 July followed by a season in Perth at His Majesty’s Theatre from 4 August.
