Having spent time living in Creswick, the birthplace of the Lindsays; perhaps Australia’s best known art family. I discovered that Sir Daryl Lindsay (1889-1976) and Lady Joan Lindsay (1896–1984) ashes are interred in the local cemetery.
Joan Lindsay was the author who wrote Picnic at Hanging Rock which was published in 1967. The novel was developed in a movie in 1975, directed by Peter Weir.
More than 40 years after the film’s release Tom Wright has adapted the story for the stage.
Directed by Matthew Lutton. The cast includes Harriett Gordon-Anderson, Arielle Gray, Amber McMahon, Elizabeth Nabben and Nikki Shiels.
